Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council (Head of Country) is General Than Shwe (Senior General Than Shwe) (April 1992).

The Prime Minister (Head of Government) is Gen. Thien Sein (Gen. TheinSein), the 11th Prime Minister of Myanmar (2007).
