Regime: Communist Socialist Regime (Lao authorities use the word People democracy) by a single political party as an organization that directs the country Is the Lao People's Revolutionary Party It has the highest power since Laos began rule in the socialist regime on 2 December 1975.

President - President of the country (in Lao language for the position of President) is Lieutenant General Jummalee Chaiyason (8 June 2006).

Head of Government-Prime Minister is Mr. Bua Sorn Boobphawan (8 June 2006).
